Sonny King is the founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Advantage Solutions ("Advantage").

King has more than 40 years of experience in the Consumer Packaged Goods industry, beginning with Vons Grocery Company in Southern California where he served as Vice President of Grocery and General Merchandise.

After leaving the retail segment in 1985, he served as a new store format and franchising consultant until 1986 when he founded his own food brokerage company, Advantage Solutions in March 1987. Until December 2012, King served as Chief Executive Officer of Advantage.

Since Advantage's founding, King's leadership and vision have provided the framework for growth of Advantage to a position of national prominence, approaching $2 billion in sales. Advantage is the premier sales and marketing agency in North America and is committed to building brand value for its clients and customers.

King completed graduate certificates in Food Marketing and Distributions from both Cornell University and the University of Southern California. He is the 2002 recipient of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award for Orange County, Calif.

Bryan Foster

Director, Sales

Bryan joined the Advantage Beverage Solutions (ABS) team in 2012 as our Director of Sales and has played an integral role in building out our Adult Beverage platform from the early development of our division. With over 30 years of experience in National Account & Distributor management, Bryan’s comprehensive understanding of the Wine, Spirits and Beer industry has made a significant impact on the ABS business development. His career path began on the Wholesale side of the business and developed to the supplier side, working with The Wine Group, Seagram Chateau & Estates, Kendall Jackson and Constellation. By leading the national off premise business for Kendall Jackson, managing multiple markets over a 16-year career with Seagram Chateau & Estates, and leading the sales and operations for Constellation, Bryan brings a wealth of industry knowledge to the ABS team.

Brian Rosenblatt

Director, Business Development

As Director of Business Development, Brian brings 12 years of alcohol beverage experience from both the distributor & supplier segments of the industry to Advantage Solutions ("Advantage"). Prior to joining Advantage at the beginning of 2013, Brian started his career with the E. & J. Gallo Winery in numerous Sales and Management roles both domestically in California and internationally throughout Germany, Italy and Turkey. After Brian’s time with Gallo in 2005, he earned his Master’s in Organization Development, while consulting for Dutcher Crossing Winery. He then spent the next five years with the Jackson Family Winery in various on and off premise sales and management positions, including District Manager for On Premise, Region Manager of Chains for Southern California and Estates Sales Manager for Western U.S. states.

Philip Calderone

Business Development Manager

Phil Calderone works on the Advantage Beverage Solutions (ABS) team as a Business Development Manager focused on Retail and Headquarter Sales initiatives. Phil started his CPG career in college working for Crossmark as a merchandiser for Coppertone Suntan Lotion. Since graduating in 2005 from California State University, Long Beach with a Communication degree, Phil has worked for Advantage Solutions for over nine years in various national capacities including Administrator, Retail Analyst, Retail Client Services Manager, and most recently Talent Development Manager. Phil is studying for his Master’s in Business Administration from Brandman University and expects to graduate in August 2014.

Robert Barker

Business Development Manager

Rob Barker works on the Advantage Beverage Solution (ABS) team as a Business Development Manager focused on the convenience channel. After serving in the U.S. Navy for nine years, Rob graduated from Arizona State University. Rob began his CPG career in 2003 and has been with Advantage Solutions since 2008. Starting as a Customer Development Manager on the convenience team, Rob established strong relationships with key retailers in the c-store channel. As a Business Development Manager on the ABS team, Rob has been an integral asset to the team with his industry/channel knowledge and by leveraging his retailer relationships to create efficiencies and build business.

Allie Herskovitz

Manager, Business Development

Allie Herskovitz works on the Advantage Beverage Solutions (ABS) team as a Manager of Business Development focusing on creative strategy to build and foster new business. Allie graduated from the University of Denver with a degree in Marketing and Accounting to pursue her passions for creativity, strategy, and problem solving. Since graduating, Allie has had over five years of experience creating customer retention, engagement, and awareness strategy in order to build business. Her efforts produced record revenue-generating growth within the company and continued success to-date. As a Manager of Business Development on the ABS team, Allie leverages her experience of building marketing and sales platforms to build business and increase retention.

Nick Sabala

National Director, Category Management

Nick Sabala works on the Advantage Beverage Solutions (ABS) team as the National Director of ABS SMARTeam™ (Strategic Marketing and Analytical Research Team). SMARTeam™ provides strategic consultative, market research and insights services to our clients. Nick Sabala began his journey with Advantage Solutions in 1996 and has held multiple positions on both the Sales & Marketing sides of our business. Nick’s experience coupled with his expansive (47) and diverse resource base offer our clients a truly unique service offering that delivers measurable results.
