Advantage Sales and Marketing appoints Chris Olivier as Chief Strategy Officer

IRVINE, Calif. — Advantage Sales and Marketing, LLC, (ASM) announced the appointment of Chris Olivier as the company’s Chief Strategy Officer today.

Olivier began his career in retail in 1989 with Woolworths. He joined The Smollan Group, the largest sales and marketing agency in the southern Africa region, in 1992 and was named Chief Executive Officer in 2001. While at Smollan, he also served as General Manager of Unilever Channel Management and launched the first fully outsourced sales organization for Unilever. Olivier also served as a Director and Managing Director of Smollan’s Dedicated Services Group, responsible for Unilever Channel Management, Lottery Fieldmarketing and Cadbury Fieldmarketing. Under Olivier’s leadership, Smollan also expanded its market reach into China, India, Malaysia and several other African countries. Olivier holds a bachelor’s degree and an MBA from the University of South Africa.
