IRVINE, Calif., — Advantage Sales and Marketing (ASM) today welcomed its second class of potential future sales leaders in its developmental program tagged ACES—Accelerated Career Excellence in Sales.

The program was piloted earlier this year with the first 11 ASM associate-graduates and their mentors.

ACES is a seven to ten month training program designed to provide qualified candidates with the sales and leadership skills necessary to become successful Business Development Managers or Customer Development Managers—vital roles in ASM's sales organizational structure. The program provides candidates with valuable exposure to cross-functional business units within ASM, including retail, category development, customer services, administration management, deductions management and sales operations.
The ACES participants along with their veteran ASM mentors, gathered for a two-day orientation at ASM's national headquarters in Irvine, Calif. on Sept. 16-17, where participants received an overview of the program and learned their expectations which include:
- Assisting their mentors in generating sales revenue and meeting with prospective and existing clients.
- Retail merchandising, store-level selling, tracking and reporting.
- Learning retail distribution and shelf standards.
- Managing administration claims, deductions and promotion forms management.
- Analyzing and interpreting data and application of category reviews.
- Developing persuasive presentation and delivery.
